Overview

The Director of Operations will lead, develop, inspire, and manage the Retail Operations team.  This individual will be responsible for achieving business objectives, meeting customer commitments, providing exceptional customer experience, and delivering construction projects on time and within budget.  This individual must have the leadership skills necessary in order to develop and lead a strong and talented team and the Operational skills to assure construction project success.

Responsibilities

  • Must demonstrate and model Sachse Construction’s core values
  • Project delivery (Profit and loss, scheduling, quality and safety).
  • People (Performance, recruitment, training, development, retention, and networking).
  • Process (Policy compliance, process adherence, procedure implementation and maintenance).
  • Project Manager and Superintendent oversight (project delivery, staff development, customer satisfaction, and profit and loss).
  • Oversees and directs all retail operational construction and infrastructure, consistent with the planning goals and standards.
  • Ensures that retail project management processes enable projects to be completed on time and within budget.
  • Cascading communication for corporate strategy, initiatives and cuture
  • Develops and implement systems to monitor project performance against budget authorization, project schedules and established quality control standards. This includes identifying variances and working with project management staff to develop and implement plans to correct ineffective operations.
  • Oversees coordination of each project.
  • Oversees and manages activities to ensure efficient and effective operations in coordination with other departments.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years Construction experience
  • Strong Retail Construction portfolio
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar
  • Experience building and leading project teams
  • Industry association and involvement
  • Experience in overseeing planning, design, and construction projects, and advance knowledge of the commercial construction and practices
  • Possesses ability to lead a team and provide strategic direction.
  • Demonstrates superior internal and external relationships that meet company core values.
  • Provides excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits exceptional Problem Solving/Analysis ability.
  • Operational knowhow to mitigate and solve construction related problems.
  • Actively participates in strategic thinking to pursue excellence by raising the bar.
